The apocryphal Acts of Andrew (2nd-3rd century) describes his preaching in Scythia and Greece and his crucifixion at Patras on an X-shaped cross (later called "St. Andrew's Cross"). Eusebius (Church History III.1) assigns him the region of Scythia.
