Tradition: stoned to death by fellow Jews in Egypt

The Lives of the Prophets (1st century) states Jeremiah was stoned to death by his fellow Jews in Tahpanhes, Egypt, where he had been taken after the fall of Jerusalem. Tertullian and other early fathers mention this tradition.
