Source: Eusebius, Church History II.25: "Paul was beheaded in Rome itself"
Eusebius (Church History II.25) records that Paul was beheaded in Rome under Nero. Clement of Rome (1 Clement 5:5-7, ca. 96 AD) writes that Paul "bore chains seven times, was exiled, was stoned" and after preaching "to the whole world" and "reaching the limits of the West" was "taken up into the Holy Place." The dating is traditionally placed around 64-67 AD.
