Eusebius (Church History III.31) preserves a letter from Polycrates, bishop of Ephesus, stating that "Philip, one of the twelve apostles, sleeps at Hierapolis" along with his daughters. Some scholars note confusion in early sources between Philip the Apostle and Philip the Evangelist of Acts 8.
